2012 Big Shot of the Year - Dr. Allison Kempe

Dr. Allison Kempe is a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and in the Colorado School of Public Health. Dr. Kempe has extensive experience in health services research and program evaluation during the past twenty years with publications in the areas of immunization delivery, evaluation of prenatal and neonatal health services, pediatric care delivery methods, and evaluation of state health insurance plans for children of low-income families. She is the Director of the Children’s Outcomes Research Program and the Director of the newly funded Center for Research in Implementation Science and Prevention (CRISP). She also directs the Primary Care Research Fellowships at the University of Colorado. Her major research focus has been in evaluating interventions to improve immunization delivery within practice or community settings. She is currently involved in two school-based immunization delivery projects, and three trials examining ways to improve immunization rates in young children and adolescents in Colorado.
