For twenty years, the Colorado Children's Immunization Coalition (CCIC) has worked to increase childhood immunization through coalition building, provider education, community outreach and legislative advocacy. As a way of thanking our partners and supporters in a fun and creative way, we are hosting the fifth annual SOUP! event.
The soup-tasting event will raise funds and awareness for childhood immunizations and honor the Big Shot of the Year, Dr. Allison Kempe. For the second year, CCIC will recognize two additional dedicated immunization champions; the Regional Sure Shot, Opal Stalker and the Metro Denver Sure Shot, Priscilla Hurley.
In addition to networking and celebrating, guests will sample a variety of soups and vote for the Best Soup and Most Creative Soup of the year. To add spice and flavor to this year's event, SOUP! 2012 will center on "Local Efforts. Global Good." to recognize how local immunization efforts positively impact disease prevention worldwide.
The event is expected to draw over 200 of Colorado's pediatricians, physicians, nurses, educators, legislators, public health experts and vaccine advocates to further CCIC's mission to keep children healthy.
