Keeping Colorado Kids Healthy!

SOUP! Event

Thank you to everyone who attended the 7th Annual S.O.U.P! at the Gardens

Thank you to the almost 200 guests who enjoyed a lovely evening of soup tasting and celebrating to keep Colorado kids healthy!

For more than 20 years, CCIC has worked to increase childhood immunization in Colorado through coalition building, provider education, community outreach, and legislative advocacy. Now in its seventh year, CCIC hosted the annual S.O.U.P! (Shots Offer Unrivaled Protection) event to thank our partners and supporters, highlight our successes, and raise funds and awareness for children’s immunization.

The 2014 S.O.U.P! event offered guests a new, enhanced experience. The event moved from spring to autumn — the perfect time of year to savor gourmet soups — and was held at the beautiful Inn at Hudson Gardens in Littleton, Colorado. In addition to sampling gourmet soups and perfectly paired appetizers from Bistro Boys Catering, guests mingled with our inspiring special guest, Andy Marso, an award-winning journalist and survivor of a rare form of meningitis, enjoyed the sounds of Colorado’s own Monocle Band, and networked with fellow CCIC friends — all while supporting CCIC and our partners’ efforts to elevate the essential role vaccines play in preventing illness and promoting health for all of Colorado.

In addition to raising important funds and awareness for children's immunization, S.O.U.P! 2014 recognized Colorado’s top immunization champions: the 2014 Big Shot of the Year, Dr. Chris Nevin-Woods, Public Health Director, Pueblo City-County Health Department; the 2014 Metro Denver Sure Shot, Sundari Kraft, Vaccinate for Healthy Schools; and the 2014 Regional Sure Shot, Lori Quick, RN, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Additionally, CCIC presented a new award, the 2014 SOUPer Hero, to Dr. Sean O'Leary, Pediatric Infectious Disease Specialist, Children's Hospital Colorado.

S.O.U.P! 2014 drew almost 200 of Colorado’s pediatricians, physicians, nurses, educators, legislators, public health experts and vaccine advocates to further CCIC’s mission to strategically mobilize diverse partners and families to advance children's health through immunization.
