Improved childhood immunization rates for 2005, up 6.3% from 2004;
§
Successfully implemented and managed a $3,000,000 immunization
improvement project for seven years, in ten counties, with more than
seventy-five clinics;
§
Provided integral support in the development and expansion of a
statewide childhood immunization registry, directly supporting the
linking of over eighty practices and clinics to the Colorado
Immunization Information System (CIIS);
§
Successfully managed 5 pubic awareness campaigns promoting the
importance of childhood immunizations and awarded Gold and Silver Leaf
awards from the Colorado Health Care Communicators, which recognizes the
best in community awareness campaigns;
§
Successfully developed and managed numerous outreach immunization
clinics in the Denver metro area including the monthly Aurora
Firefighters Shots for Tots clinic, Englewood Shots for Tots clinic, and
annual back to school immunization clinics.
§
Sustained improvement in immunizations rates with community recall
efforts of 6 to 11 percent.
§
Received a Telly award from the National Production Association for our
CCIC video “Protecting Children, Preventing Disease”, which was produced
in 2005. An independent panel of judges determines the awards.
§
Led
efforts to increase State funding for childhood immunizations with the
following results:

In
2004, approval of $500,000 in new funding for immunization-related
activities.

In
2005, approval of $250,000 for
the
first-ever State funding for the Colorado Immunization Information
System (CIIS) and funding for county nursing services of $500,000 was
included in the State’s budget.
·
In 2006,
$368,000 was allocated for CIIS as an annual appropriation.
