CCIC Coalition Meeting: Grassroots Initiatives and Local Partner Updates

Three of our closest partners provided updates on exciting local projects impacting the health of our communities. From Boulder County, Lesly Feaux presented a summary of the Boulder Immunization Coalition's findings on the impact the Affordable Care Act on vaccination coverage in Boulder County, as well as preliminary results from focus groups looking at parental beliefs and attitudes around immunization. Denver Public Health's Nicole Steffens gave an update on the recently launched HPV Communications Campaign through the Denver Metro Alliance for HPV Prevention, including an overview of background, strategy and next steps. Last, as CCIC works to mobilize parents at the grassroots level, consultant Sundari Kraft, presented her work launching Colorado Parents for Vaccinated Communities (CPVC), a new parent-focused advocacy network.
