CCIC Coalition Meeting: The Death of Evidence - Implications for Immunization

At the December CCIC Coalition meeting, Dr. Jonathan Samet, Dean of the Colorado School of Public Health, presented a lecture on the  rising skepticism around scientific evidence and experts—a trend that can be traced back several decades. Dr. Samet discussed an emerging departure from the use of evidence in decision-making and presented on the broad implications of this trend for global health as well as immunization. 

Presenter Information

Jonathan Samet, MD, MS, is a pulmonary physician, epidemiologist, and Dean and Professor of Epidemiology at the Colorado School of Public Health. Dr. Samet holds a secondary appointment as Professor of Environmental and Occupational Health. His career has centered on epidemiologic research on threats to public health and using research findings to support policies that protect population health.
