2011 Sure Shot (Metro Denver) - Anne Hammer
Anne Hammer is the Nursing Clinical Coordinator for the Denver Health Immunization Program. She is a pediatric registered nurse and has worked for Denver Health for 28 years, initially in the inpatient setting, then in the nursing education department, and later in the community health clinic setting. As the Immunization Program Nursing Clinical Coordinator she currently serves as the co-chair for the agency immunization committee, the clinical resource to Denver Health staff for immunization information and immunization reminder/recall activities, the subject matter expert for the agency’s computerized immunization registry, and coordinates outreach immunization projects at local public school sites and county Women, Infants, Children (WIC) sites.
"Anne is the single most important reason that Denver Health’s immunization program has been so successful. Anne has had an enormous impact on the health of thousands, even tens of thousands, of children, adolescents, and adults in the 13 years that she has overseen Denver Health’s immunization program." -- Dr. Simon Hambidge, Director of General Pediatrics at Denver Health and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado.
