CCIC is pleased to announce receipt of a $10,000 mini-grant from Hep B United to support increasing knowledge of hepatitis B prevention, testing and linkages to care among Colorado’s Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AA&NHPI) communities by leveraging CCIC’s vast statewide coalition infrastructure to engage with non-traditional and untapped partners. CCIC will also educate Colorado healthcare providers by improving their clinical knowledge especially regarding ACIP recommendations for birth dose, preventing perinatal transmission, and testing for hepatitis B virus in refugee and AA&NHPI populations. Additionally, the funding will be used to increase the number of low-income, uninsured or publicly insured AA&NHPI patients receiving hepatitis B and other vaccinations at the Shots for Tots and Teens immunization clinics.
