CAIC/CCIC Joint Coalition Meeting: Meningococcal Epidemiology and Vaccine Recommendations in the United States
CCIC and the Colorado Adult Immunization Coalition (CAIC) hosted a joint coalition meeting where Dr. Donna Curtis presented on Meningococcal disease in the United States.
The presentation covered the following topics:
- Described the epidemiology of meningococcal disease in the United States.
- Described the burden of meningococcal disease in the United States.
- Described current CDC vaccine recommendations for meningococcal disease, including recommendations for recently licensed meningococcal-B vaccines.
About the presenter:
Dr. Curtis is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Infectious Diseases at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and specializes in Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Pediatrics as an attending physician at Children's Hospital Colorado. She completed her MD and MPH at Johns Hopkins University and her Fellowship through the University of Colorado Denver Program in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Children’s Hospital Colorado. Over the last few years, she has conducted research regarding the immunogenicity of influenza vaccines in immunocompromised children and has worked with the Transplant Line of Service at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
