Meeting Description
Join the Colorado Adult Immunization Coalition (CAIC) and the Colorado Children’s Immunization Coalition (CCIC) for a joint meeting to learn about meningitis, its impact and opportunities for decreasing its prevalence. Meeting participants will hear from meningitis survivor and vaccine advocate, Jamie Schanbaum, who will share her personal experience with the disease. Finally, Dr. Amanda Dempsey, Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado and practicing pediatrician at Children’s Hospital Colorado, will share the Adolescent Immunization Initiative’s recommendations and rationale for an immunization platform at 16 years of age, which includes the MenACWY and MenB vaccines.
